TOPIC:

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic cargo theft accounted for $15B-$30B in losses per year, and worldwide more than $60B/year.  Recent port congestion caused by pandemic shipping disruptions resulted in over 16,000 TEUs being breached in LA County the last quarter of 2021, with high value goods and weapons targeted.  the Department of Homeland Security and the US Air Force Title III office are collaborating with private industry on the commercialization of secure ISO shipping containers with tracking, door open alert, and six-sided penetration detection, including the establishment of domestic manufacturing capacity for secure shipping containers.  This presentation will cover the development of secure shipping technology, capabilities, and ongoing and projected field trials.
